An upright lives where the family does, often standing against an outside wall and played every day through the year. That asks a lot of an instrument here, where heat and humidity work on wood the whole year round.
Yamaha seasons the timber for the conditions a piano will live in, then finishes and braces it to hold its tuning and its action through the damp months. A piano prepared for Singapore behaves quite differently from one built for a cool, dry workshop overseas.
And with Yamaha’s own technicians here in Singapore, a yearly tune and the occasional adjustment keep it sounding right for as long as it stands in your home.
